Medicare 101 Workshops
Medicare 101 Workshops are an excellent way to learn about Medicare and your options. Workshops are educational in nature and review all parts of Medicare in an easy to understand format. There is no sales, high pressure tactics or obligation.
What Workshops Cover
Workshops review Medicare Parts A & B, Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplement as well as Medicare Part D. Workshops also give you helpful hints on choosing which plan is right for you and the pros and cons of each. There is no right or wrong decision one can make. Which plan is right for you depends upon personal need and preference.
Working Past age 65
Frequently we find that many folks are working past age 65. Whether they are doing so because they need to provide coverage for dependents, have to pay off debt or just like to work, it is always recommended that one review their group health plan and compare it to a private Medicare plan in terms of benefits and cost.
In many instances it makes sense to come off the group plan and enroll in a private Medicare plan since the cost and coverage can be much better than a group plan. But, then again, there are instances where it makes sense to stay on the group plan as the cost and benefits may be just as good as a private Medicare plan.
There are also situations where coverage options need to be looked at due to a younger spouse or children. Does it make sense for everybody to stay on the group plan? Does the spouse have coverage through their employer? If everyone is healthy, maybe a short term medical plan makes sense. If any dependent has health problems, maybe it makes sense to explore an individual major medical plan. Depending a families income, maybe a premium and cost sharing subsidy on the Federal Healthcare Exchange is instore for them.
Each person’s situation is different and needs to be evaluated. With over 25 years working with employee benefits, we have the unique ability to analyze both group and individual health plans as well as private Medicare plans and provide a professional opinion on which plan is better and why.
Do You Have Costly Medications?
If you are taking costly prescriptions, we work with pharmaceutical assistance programs and international drug pharmacies where you can receive your drug at a reduced cost.
Do You Have Limited Income?
If you have limited income, we can assist you in obtaining monetary help to cover or reduce the cost of the Medicare Part B premium, the copays and any premium associated with Medicare Advantage and Part D drug plans. This is done by applying for government sponsored programs such as Extra Help, The Medicare Savings Program, and Medicaid.
